Condos: the view is the listing.

For a Rosslyn or Clarendon condo, the photo that matters is the living room with the city outside the window. That only works when the window is balanced with the room, so you see both. We do that by hand in editing, not with a filter. If the unit faces the skyline, a real twilight ($250) from inside the unit is the best hero photo you can get. Building amenities need management's OK; tell us who to call.

Older homes and new builds.

North Arlington is full of 1930s and 40s brick homes with small rooms, and big new houses built where older ones stood. The older homes need restraint: the right corner, a normal lens, the original details. The new builds need the opposite: wide open plans, high ceilings and the finishes buyers are paying for. A cinematic film or reel helps those sell beyond the MLS.

Drone photography in Arlington.

All of Arlington sits inside the DC Flight Restricted Zone, 17.3 miles around Reagan National in our airspace check. Drone is still available: our Part 107 pilot files the FAA/TSA authorization before the flight, so book a few business days ahead and we handle the paperwork.

Most of it is also inside the 7-mile Reagan National Class B ring in our check, which the same authorization covers. Rosslyn and Clarendon skyline aerials are worth the few days of lead time.

Our airspace check, place by place. Drone is available at every one of them. FAA/TSA authorization filed ahead: Rosslyn (DC Flight Restricted Zone (17.3 miles around Reagan National)), Clarendon (DC Flight Restricted Zone (17.3 miles around Reagan National)), Ballston (DC Flight Restricted Zone (17.3 miles around Reagan National)), Shirlington (DC Flight Restricted Zone (17.3 miles around Reagan National)) and Westover (DC Flight Restricted Zone (17.3 miles around Reagan National)). Every address is checked when you book, and the pilot runs B4UFLY and LAANC on the day of every flight.

      Arlington questions.

Can you fly a drone in Arlington?

Yes. Westover, out by the county line, is inside the DC Flight Restricted Zone (17.3 miles around Reagan National) in our check, so our pilot files the FAA/TSA authorization before the flight (book a few business days ahead), and the rest of Arlington is the same. Our pilot handles the paperwork.

      Where should the photographer park?

Tell us about a visitor spot, a garage space or a loading area in your access notes. Street parking near the Metro can take a while.

      Do you shoot Fairlington condos?

Yes. These are great with a floor plan, because buyers compare the different models.

      Can you shoot building amenities?

Yes, with the building's permission. Give us the contact and we'll check in at the front desk.
