How gigs work

What you get

  • Gigs by email and in your portal, with pay shown before you accept
  • Full address, access notes and the client's contact once you accept
  • No editing, no client billing, no chasing payments
  • Weekly payouts through Stripe; 1099 at year end, automatically
  • Preferred status after 10 clean gigs: you see new gigs before anyone else

What we expect

  • Be on time. Tap "Arrived" and "Done shooting" on the job
  • Upload every raw file within 12 hours of the shoot, then tap "Upload complete"
  • Releasing a gig inside 24 hours of the shoot counts as a strike; 3 strikes in 90 days pauses your account
  • Uploads more than 12 hours late cut that gig's pay by 20%
  • Clients are KONAH's: no direct bookings for 12 months after a gig

Questions

Is this a job or freelance?

Freelance. You're an independent contractor (1099): your gear, your schedule, you pick which gigs to take, and you're free to work for anyone else. You sign a short contractor agreement in the portal before your first gig.

How much does a gig pay?

It depends on the package. Photo-only shoots are roughly $80 to $190; packages with drone or video run $110 to $380. The exact pay is on every gig before you accept it, and it's yours even if the client asks for revisions, as long as the raws were usable and on time.

When do I get paid?

Weekly, after our editor confirms your raw files are good. Payouts go straight to your bank or debit card through Stripe, which also sends your tax forms in January.

Do I need a full-frame camera?

No. A modern APS-C body with a true wide-angle lens (10–22 mm on crop) is fine. What we don't accept: phones, action cams, or a kit 18–55 as your only lens.

Can I do drone work?

Only with an FAA Part 107 certificate that KONAH has verified in your profile. Much of DC and the airspace near Reagan and Dulles is restricted, so we check airspace on every drone gig.

What if nobody edits my files the way I'd like?

We edit to one KONAH standard so every client gets the same look. If you'd rather edit too, apply as an editor as well; some freelancers do both.
