Freelance real estate photographer, Richmond to Baltimore.
You shoot the listing, we do everything else. KONAH posts each booked shoot as a gig, you take the ones that fit your week, and our editors turn your brackets into the finished set the agent sees the next day.
What you'll shoot.
Mostly listing photography for agents: interiors and exteriors of townhomes, single-family homes and condos, from a quick rental set to a luxury home. Packages run from about 15 delivered photos up to 60, with detail shots, twilight exteriors and headshots on some orders. You work from the package and the client's must-have list on the gig, and you bracket for HDR so the editors can pull windows and balance light.
The gear we need.
- An interchangeable-lens camera, mirrorless or DSLR. APS-C is fine.
- A true wide-angle lens: 16–35 mm on full frame or 10–22 mm on APS-C.
- A sturdy tripod. A speedlight helps.
- Your own reliable vehicle.
- At least ten real estate images in your portfolio.
The application checks this before it can be sent. Phones, action cams and a kit 18–55 as your only lens don't meet the minimum.
Why photographers like it.
No editing, no invoicing, no chasing clients for a five-star review. You pick the gigs, you keep your own business and your own clients, and you can shoot for anyone else. The portal gives you a route map for multi-stop days, your availability and time off, and a private line to KONAH's dispatch.
How KONAH gigs work.
- Apply with your gear and a portfolio or Instagram. Maahir reviews every application himself.
- If it's a fit, you complete a background check through our screening provider. You pay the screening fee (currently $30) yourself on Stripe, and your SSN and date of birth go to the provider, never to KONAH.
- You sign the Independent Contractor Agreement in the portal.
- You tick the service zones you cover, and new gigs that match your skills arrive by email and in your portal.
Each gig shows the city, ZIP, date, package and your rate before you accept. The street address, lockbox and client contact unlock once it's yours. First to accept gets it. Preferred KONAH Creators, a status KONAH gives to reliable regulars, see new gigs 30 minutes before everyone else.
On the day you tap On my way, Arrived and Done shooting, then upload every raw file within 12 hours and tap Upload complete. KONAH's editors take it from there and deliver to the client. Releasing a gig inside 24 hours of the shoot counts as a strike, late uploads count against you, and 3 strikes in 90 days pauses your account.
Pay details are shared privately once you're approved: in your contractor agreement, and on every gig before you accept it.
Questions, answered.
Do I need real estate experience?
It helps, but a strong portfolio with clean verticals and good interiors matters more. Ten or more real estate images is the minimum to apply.
How many photos do I take per shoot?
Enough brackets for the package on the gig, which runs from about 15 to 60 delivered photos. The shot list and package are on the gig before you accept.
Can I also edit?
Editing is done by KONAH's editors so every client gets one look. If you'd like to edit too, apply separately as a remote editor.
How does pay work?
Pay details are shared privately once you're approved: in your contractor agreement, and on every gig before you accept it.
