I-270 is the main road to Montgomery County and the Beltway, I-70 runs east to Baltimore and west to Hagerstown, and US 15 crosses the Potomac at Point of Rocks toward Leesburg, the usual way over from Loudoun. US 340 heads southwest to Brunswick and Harpers Ferry. Rush-hour I-270 is the slow part of almost any trip.
